Manavella Lab

          Agrobiotechnology Institute of Santa Fe was created on September 5th 2008, between the National Council for Research in Science and Technology (CONICET) represented by its President, Dr. Marta Rovira, and the National University of the Litoral (UNL) represented by its Rector, Dr. Albor Cantard, in response to the proposal from Professors and Researchers Drs. Alberto Iglesias, Daniel González, Juan Claus, and Raquel Chan from the Faculty of Biochemistry and Biological Sciences (FBCB), and Dr. Abelardo Vegetti from the Faculty of Agronomical Sciences (FCA), as stated in the file N°2065/08 dated September 3rd 2008. On December 12th 2008, the authorities from both institutions designated Dr. Raquel Chan as the Interim Director, as stated in the file N°003270/08. Activities of the IAL are developed in buildings from the previously mentioned Faculties (FBCB and FCA).

      ​Its mission is to create and maintain a scientific and technological infrastructure capable of answering to the increasing demands of basic and applied research, development and transfer of technology into the different scientific disciplines and areas related to Biotechnology applied to the development of agricultural production.

- Training human resources of excellence specialized in different areas of Biotechnology applied to agricultural development.

- Integration of interdisciplinary structures capable of providing answers to complex problems addressed by the agricultural biotechnology.

- Publish experimental results of the different research groups in specialized journals, lectures, conferences and general media.
